Richard Golden - Chairman & CEORichard Golden is currently a private investor in a number of emerging companies and takes an active role in overseeing the investments. From 2007 to mid-2010, he was a Managing Director of Alumni Capital Network, a private equity firm specializing in buying and building small to mid-sized businesses. He managed the fund-raising for the firm's $68 million fund and served on the Board of the company. Previously, he spent 28 years with Accenture in various executive management roles as well as managed large-scaled business improvement projects for Global 1000 companies, concentrating on airlines, manufacturers and retailers. His management positions included Country Managing Director - Sweden and Finland; Managing Director of the Retail Industry in Europe and Africa; Chief Operating Officer for the Products Market Unit; and Corporate Chief of Staff where he helped manage the transition of Accenture from a global partnership to an international corporation. Mr. Golden's contribution to our Company is his vast experience in leadership roles and fund-raising activities that have made him a critical member of our Team.
Tom Mackey – Senior Vice President, OperationsTom Mackey has spent his entire career in the food and restaurant industry. Prior to joining the KnowFat! team, Mackey was president and chief operating officer of LoFat KnowFat where he oversaw all of the company's operations. Prior to joining LFKF, he was the vice president of new growth for Metromedia Restaurant Group, parent of Bennigan's, Steak & Ale, Ponderosa, Bonanza, and several other casual dining restaurant concepts. Before joining MRG, Mackey held various senior management positions including vice president of franchising within American Hospitality Concepts Incorporated (parent of Ground Round, Tin Alley Grill, et al.). He is a certified "Serve-Safe" instructor and has served as director of the Massachusetts Restaurant Association. Mackey holds a B.S. in Hotel, Restaurant and Travel from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Irma Norton – CFOIrma Norton is an operations-oriented financial executive with over 15 years experience with businesses ranging from start-ups to large multinational companies. Most recently, Norton was the controller for Handmade Bow Company, a privately held consumer products company. Prior to that position, Norton was the CFO for the Dunkin' Donuts master franchisee in Mexico. In her five year tenure with Dunkin' Donuts, she was instrumental in growing the chain from zero to 100 stores in Guadalajara, Monterrey and Tijuana. She also was a leader in the start-up of La Fabrica, a chain of convenience stores in Mexico owned by Minsa, a large publicly held flour processing company. Norton holds a B.A. degree in Accounting from the University of Guadalajara in Mexico and is a graduate of the distinguished Executive Management Program of ITAM in Mexico City.
John Nappier - Senior Vice President, Business DevelopmentJohn Nappier brings a wide range of 30+ years restaurant experiences to the UFood team. Prior to joining the UFood team, John spent time as an award winning Franchisee and Franchise Business Manager for the Burger King Brand. Most recently, he served as Vice president of Business Development for Sodexo where he managed and grew a portfolio of over 50 nationally brand restaurants with over 500 locations as well as a portfolio of 6 signature brands with over 400 locations. John's background includes a long successful history leading; branding, business development, operations, culinary, creative, restaurant design, marketing, finance, training, contracts and deployment. John's unique understanding of the marketplace marrying his Franchising experience with non-tradtional and traditional development is a valuable asset to our UFood brand.
Walter Pomerleau - Vice President of Franchise OperationsWalter Pomerleau has been in the restaurant industry for 25 years. After graduating from UMass Amherst, Walter began his hospitality career with Ground Round Restaurants/American Hospitality, Inc.. He held various positions within multi-unit operations management for Ground Round where he won numerous achievement awards. Walter joined the UFood Grill Operations Team in 2005 and now serves as the Vice President of Franchising and Franchise Operations while also assisting with IT, Marketing, Training and Operations.
